Under winter waters.

Under Winter Waters, is J. E’s own ‘world in progress,’ a book she has been working on in quiet moments since 2021.

The illustrated narrative —inspired by fantasy and folklore,— is set on the edge of an alpine lake, where themes of grief, connection, magic, and memory unfold through the unlikely friendship between a man, a ghost, and a witch.

In 2025, J.E was awarded an artists residecy (zappekin gallery) to work on Under winter waters. This culminated in her exhibition (and accompanying booklet) titled: under winter waters: the Story So Far.

The final work is due to be released in march 2027. Watch this space!
